Head Coach - Henry Haeusler

Henry Haeusler is a coaching specialist in youth development and professional soccer. He received his Masters Degree in Physical Education with special emphasis on coaching soccer at the German University of Physical Culture in Leipzig (1976-1980). He holds the top DFB (German Soccer Federation) Pro-Coaching license and the UEFA Pro License (FL 001805). He is a member of the German Soccer Coaches Association.

As a youth Henry was a player with BFC Dynamo Berlin in the former GDR. He was part of the 1967 Youth Champions of the GDR and winner of the 1968 Youth Cup final. From 1968 to 1970 he was a player in the first youth division and member of the U17/18 Youth National Team. Before attending the German University of Physical Culture in Leipzig Henry played for several professional clubs including BSG NARVA Berlin, 1.FC Union Berlin and SG Hohenschönhausen (First, Second and Third league). He was Head Coach for various youth teams as well as the academy development program for the soccer organization Dynamo Berlin (BFC Dynamo) and for two professional teams (Dynamo Schwerin and Chemie Velten) in the second league in Germany from 1978 to1990.

The BFC Dynamo soccer program is regarded as the most successful in former East Germany and was all encompassing in that it offered players between the ages of 10 to 18 formal education, soccer training, and life skill within an academy environment. Many of the players from this program have gone on to play for the German National Youth, Olympic and World Cup Teams. In his time with the club 16 of his players he had responsibility for a period of time became later National Team players and a lot more reached the professional level. He really knows what he is talking about.

From 1990 to 2000 Henry has been involved in youth and professional development in Berlin including the Head Coach of FC Berlin from 1998 to 1999. From there he moved on to the position of Head Coach of the SV Germania 90 Schöneiche before coming to Canada in 2001 as a Head coach with the Calgary FC Storm and trainer in the Storm youth program. After spending time in Canada he returned to Germany as the Head of the Amateur development for 1.FC Union Berlin where in 2002 he was also named the Technical Director of the High Performance Youth Training Academy. Henry has recently been involved with Thomas Niendorf and the Skillstorm online program involving the training and youth philosophy of FC Bayern Munich, one of the most successful soccer clubs in the world.
